There are plenty of times when your disability dictates what you will do and when you will do it. We are currently beginning to look for a new home. The down side is that we see the impending time coming that I will lose my ability to be independent in the bathroom for showering, toileting, etc. This will require the use of a lift system, probably a Hoyer lift, to get me where I need to be to get done what needs to be done. That means a major bathroom renovation must be completed to enable the use of the lift. So, instead of trying to do that in our current home, we will purchase a new home, do the renovation, then move on in.
