After yesterday's post, it was brought to my attention that you must be your own advocate when dealing with illness, injury and disability issues. The task of gaining knowledge to be a Case Manager is one half. Being your own advocate is the other half to getting what you need when you need it.
Linda's comment from yesterday can't be overstated, "...we have to be cognizant of the fact that common courtesy goes a long way. Treat all medical staff with respect and courtesy, and you should receive the same in return."
We just can't take for granted that everything will run smoothly. Do your homework
and be sure to be respectful when making requests.
